MUSIC: Language of the Spirit

    I would not be who I am today if it was not for music.  Not only am I a photographer, but I am also a music artist.  In essence, it is a circle of creativity, because my early years of photographing live music events gave me the confidence and desire to also pursue a life involved with performing shows myself.  The vantage point on stage photographing some of my favorite artists made my secondary goal of being a DJ/Producer seem tangible and attainable. I will forever be grateful for the memories I have made, not only on stage taking pictures, but also the times I have gotten to curate and perform at events myself.

    Capturing the connection between the energy of the crowd and passion of the artists on stage can result in some truly magical moments.  There is a special bond between performer and attendee which can hardly be put into words, but is better to be felt in person.  My goal when photographing and filming these events is to try and incapsulate that interaction and commemorate the love of music we all share together.  It helps to have also experienced the performance side personally, because it gives me a full range of perspective the next time I put down the turntables, pick up the camera, and shoot the next event.
